Lora Robinson, MMT, MT-BC is an Assistant Professor and the Music Therapy Coordinator at the Chadwick A Boseman College of Fine Arts within Howard University in Washington, D.C.. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Queens University of Charlotte, in Charlotte, NC, and a Master of Music Therapy from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA. Lora has a professional music therapy background working with students receiving special education services in the public school system, residential mental health facilities for children, assisted living facilities, and private practice. Lora is passionate about supporting students in discovering and utilizing their inner resources to provide authentic and unique music therapy experiences to their clients. She is eager to be on the MAR board and excited to be serving the region in this capacity.
As per the MAR-AMTA Bylaws, Article III, Section 8, the Treasurer-Elect shall: study the duties of the Treasurer in order to be prepared at the appropriate time to take over the responsibilities of the office; assist the Treasurer as requested; maintain communication with the Treasurer; serve as Conference Treasurer for conferences of the Region; assume all duties of the Treasurer in case of resignation or removal of the Treasurer; attend Regional Executive Board meetings and conferences of the Region during their term of office; serve as a member of the Finance Committee; establish and/or maintain a handbook outlining job responsibilities; and carry out such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Board.
