Beth Deyermond, MA, MT-BC

Beth Deyermond, MA, MT-BC has been practicing music therapy for over eighteen years. She is the Director of Music Therapy at The Center for Discovery in Harris, New York where she also serves as the Internship Director. At The Center, Beth specializes in working with children and adults who are have multiple, complex physical and intellectual challenges and has been able to present on her work at numerous conferences around the country. In addition, Beth is currently an adjunct professor at the State University of New York – New Paltz where she teaches the Fieldwork classes in their graduate program. Beth has been on the MAR-AMTA Executive Board since 2015 in the roles of Secretary, President-Elect, and now President.

As per the MAR-AMTA Bylaws, Article III, Section 1, the President shall: preside at all meetings of the Region; call and preside at all meetings of the Executive Board; be ex officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee; be a representative to the Assembly of Delegates; make all designated appointments subject to the approval of the Executive Board; perform all other duties commensurate with the stated purpose of the organization; communicate with, advise, and guide corresponding student officer; establish and/or maintain a handbook outlining job responsibilities; and submit an annual written report at the regional conference.
