Our MT facilitates up to four daily half hour music groups with the help of one undergraduate or graduate student assistant. The groups have five to six participants, and children are assigned to groups of 4-5 year-olds or 6-8 year-olds. Assisted by the therapeutic camp counselors, MTs provide structured music activities that help participants discover emotion-awareness, improve self-regulation and manage energy and impulsivity. Through the use of instruments and music interventions, our MTs provide the structure for successful interactions to help campers achieve non-music goals, such as listening to others, turn-taking, attending to social cues, discovering when to lead and when to follow, adjusting behavior and volume to keep others comfortable, emotion awareness and regulation, teamwork, reciprocal communication, keeping safe bodies, and sensory and emotion regulation. MTs lead the singing of the beloved Camp Pegasus anthem to launch each day and the goodbye song that closes the afternoon community meeting. Essential to the joyous operation of the Mini Peg program, MTs assist in all facets of the program, including break/snack time, carpool, and supervising and mentoring the therapeutic assistants. The MT is a member of the clinical team that guides and supports the Mini Pegasus program. The following are requirements for successful Music Therapy employees:

• Graduated from a clinical program in Music Therapy
• Possess the MT-BC credential
• Experience in providing music therapy groups
• Clinical experience treating neurodiverse children a plus
