Students…here’s your opportunity to get the real story on life as a Music Therapist! During this dynamic, open forum, a panel of Music Therapists will be on hand to answer your questions. The panel will be made up of Music Therapists at different stages of their careers, from internship to retirement, and everywhere in between. Topics covered will ultimately come from the questions posed, and may include:
- deciding on an internship site
- finding (and keeping) a job
- developing a personal philosophy
- avoiding burnout
- planning for retirement
Be sure to attend and learn from the experiences of those who are out there in the professional world!

This session will provide a brief update on the work of the MLE Subcommittee and introduce a proposed new model of education and clinical training. The MLE Subcommittee is soliciting feedback from members, and time will be given for your thoughts and comments.

Join us to discuss the proposed Music Therapy Licensure Bill in Pennsylvania during the State Meeting times.
Student Swap Shop
4:30pm – 5:20pm
The Student Swap Shop is an opportunity for the exchange of clinical ideas developed by students from across the Mid-Atlantic Region. Prior to the conference, Music Therapy clubs who wish to participate are assigned a population typically served by Music Therapists. They then create a therapeutic intervention to meet the unique needs of that population. During the Swap Shop, the interventions are shared and discussed in dynamic role-play scenarios. Not to be missed for anyone looking for new ideas to add to their tool belt!
