Special Election: Treasurer-Elect

  • Post category:News

The Nominating Committee invites all professional members to vote in this Special Election for the vacated position of Treasurer-Elect. We present to the membership one nominee for this position. The elected person will serve from December 21, 2022 through June 30, 2023 in the position of Treasurer-Elect and will automatically transition into the position of Treasurer on July 1, 2023 when the newly elected Executive Board transitions, and will serve in that capacity until June 30, 2024.

Please use the following link to access the written and audio versions of the candidate information (audio version is read by Beth Deyermond):

Via the above link, you will find the candidate’s background information, statement of interest, cultural humility statement, and their thoughts on current issues within the profession of music therapy. As stated in the MAR-AMTA by-laws, and as part of our effort in continuing to work towards higher levels of equity, identifying factors such as names and photographs have been excluded for purposes of anonymity. We do recognize however, that the profession of music therapy is small, and this process is fallible. With that in mind, information shared by the candidates may inevitably decrease their anonymity.

Ballots will be open for one week starting on December 17th and will close on December 25th at 11:59PM. We recognize this is a very busy time of year for some people and truly appreciate the time voters will take to participate in this special election. As a reminder, professional membership is a requisite to vote in this election and only one vote may be cast per person. Please note that once you begin the voting process, the system will not allow you to leave and return, nor will it allow you to go back once you move onto the next page.

Members should check their email to cast their vote. The Nominating Committee hopes that all who are able will exercise their right to vote in this election. Please feel free to contact the committee with any questions at pastpresident@maramta.org.
