Attention NYS LCATs Seeking Continuing Education Opportunities

Have you heard about the new AMTA member benefit starting in January 2020? AMTA is launching the AMTA E-course Research Review Series for members only. Members will be able to access e-courses based on research from recently published journals, complete assignments, and earn CMTE credits. Read more about it here: https://www.musictherapy.org/careers/continuing_music_therapy_education/

These courses will qualify for LCAT CE under the category of self-study, meaning “structured study … that is based on audio, audio-visual, written, on-line, or other media, and does not include live instruction, transmitted in person or otherwise, during which the student may communicate and interact with the instructor and other students” (http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/mhp/subpart79-11.htm#coned). You may earn 1 hour of LCAT CE for each 50-minutes of instruction. Please note: According to NYS regulations, you can claim a maximum of 12 hours of self-study CE in any 3-year registration period.

For additional information on achieving or maintaining the LCAT, please contact the New York State Task Force on Occupational Regulation (NYSTF) directly at nystate.task.force@gmail.com.
